Investigators discovered a house in Southwest Detroit that has been hoarding over 25 cats on Tuesday.

Michigan Humane, with assistance from the Detroit Police Department and Detroit Animal Care and Control, seized four cats from the residence. Traps were set to capture the remaining cats and Michigan Humane’s field services team will be monitoring the situation regularly.

“We are so thankful to be considered essential and able to maintain operations during these uncertain times. We always love the opportunity to work side by side with DACC and DPD, and today we were able to do just that,” says Michigan Humane field services manager Elise Ramsey. “Working together and pooling our resources allowed us to safely remove 4 cats from a deplorable, uninhabitable property.”
