While the majority of animals we get at MHS are dogs and cats, we aren’t limited! MHS takes in any animal that comes to it, including guinea pigs, hamsters, chickens, rabbits, snakes, frogs, and sometimes, pigs!

Miss Barbara Sparkles is a young potbelly pig waiting for her forever home at the Rochester Hills Center for Animal Care. She loves apples and enjoys belly rubs, and she has started to learn to walk on a leash and “sit” for a treat. She is also littertrained.

Caring for a pig is not quite the same as a dog or cat, but they can be great companion pets. Our staff is always willing to educate potential adopters about the animal they may be interested in. Our wildlife staff is knowledgeable about a large variety of species and takes care to make sure each animal gets the proper environment and proper care.

If you are interested in adopting Miss Barbara Sparkles, you can call the Rochester Hills Center for Animal Care at 248.852.7420, ext. 224. Please ensure you are permitted by your city to own a pig!
