Rochester Hills

Dr. David Emery, DVM
Dr. Emery is currently the lead veterinarian at our Rochester Hills facility, seeing clients as well as performing some administrative duties and helping to keep the center running smoothly. He has been with MHS for 5 years and is a graduate of the Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Emery has special interests in dermatology, cardiology, surgery, and anesthesia. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, camping and playing ultimate Frisbee.

Dr. Lara Silveri, DVM
Dr. Silveri has been with MHS for several years at our Rochester Hills facility. She is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and has a special interest in shelter medicine and surgery. When not at work, Dr. Silveri spends time with her friends, family and rescue pets. She also enjoys traveling with her husband and exploring new places.

Grosfeld Veterinary Center in Detroit

Dr. Jennifer Thomas, DVM
A graduate of Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Thomas has been on staff with MHS twice- once right out of school, and then again when she joined our Detroit team 4 years ago. She has a house full of MHS alumni, including a Great Dane adopted from our Detroit shelter. When she is not treating animals, Dr. Thomas enjoys gardening, bird watching and watching college/professional sports.

Dr. Justina Supria, DVM
Dr. Supria recently joined our MHS Detroit team and is a graduate of Tuskegee University. In addition to her normal veterinary duties, Dr. Supria has extra interest in internal medicine and veterinary acupuncture. She is currently working to become a certified veterinary acupuncturist. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Supria like to travel, enjoys movies, visit friends and family and spoil her dog.

Westland Veterinary Center

Dr. Elda Martin, DVM
In her 18 years with MHS, Dr. Martin currently serves as the lead veterinarian at our Berman Center. Growing up on a farm, Dr. Martin has had a passion for animals since she was a child and has translated that into a career. A graduate of Michigan State University Veterinary College, Dr. Martin’s areas of interest include dentistry, ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, Dr. Martin enjoys gardening, cooking and riding motorcycles along with caring for her coterie of animals, including a one-eyed Shih Tzu and a reformed feral cat.

Dr. Swity Bhavsar, DVM
Dr. Bhavsar comes to MHS by way of the University Of Minnesota College Of Veterinary Medicine. She has special interests in dermatology, shelter medicine, cardiology and soft-tissue surgery. When she is not treating clients, Dr. Bhavsar likes to spend time with her friends and family, read, dance and find new warm places to escape to during Michigan winters.

Dr. Avery Brown, DVM
A new member to the MHS team, Dr. Brown graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and has a special interest in dermatology and internal medicine. Dr. Brown grew up in Michigan and has wanted to become a veterinarian since she was 8 years old. She shares her home with a loving Catahoula mix, and spends her free time crafting, hiking, playing video games and being involved at church.

Dr. Janeea Wright, DVM
Dr. Wright joined the MHS team recently, and has already made her mark! A graduate of the Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, she comes to us with experience in private practice along with an interest in cardiology and dedication to compassionate care. When not working with clients, Dr. Wright spends time with her two rescues, plays sports, dances and enjoys the opportunity to spend time with family.

Dr. Michelle Lopez, DVM
Dr. Lopez attended veterinary school at Michigan State University and has been working at Michigan Humane Society for almost 2 years. Her interests include surgery, ophthalmology, and grey cats. She has one sassy grey cat at home named Tucker. When she is not in a white coat, you can find her hiking, geocaching or even fire dancing!

Dr. Jamie Morrison, DVM
Dr. Morrison is another Spartan! A graduate of Michigan State University, Dr. Morrison has interests in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasounds. MHS has been fortunate to have Dr. Morrison for several years, providing excellent care to all our patients. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Morrison is a proud parent to a number of animals, and also enjoys reading and spending time with family.
