River Boy is an acoustic Bluegrass band based in Charleston, S.C. currently kicking-off their ‘A Dog’s Dream,’ nationwide animal shelter fundraising tour. Sponsored by Bissell, all concert proceeds will go to over 20 animal shelters across the country. Lead guitar and vocalist Shayne Floyd has been performing Bluegrass music for 25 years and through his day job has been working with animal shelters for over 12 years, including the Michigan Humane Society. The band has graciously chosen MHS as one of the shelters their concert will benefit when they perform at the Magic Stick in Detroit on September 19.

A Dog's Dream Tour

Eight years ago, Floyd adopted a German Shorthaired Pointer rescue named Berg, who later inspired him to write a song titled “A Dog’s Dream,” which marked the start of River Boy.

“‘A Dog’s Dream’ concept was inspired when I was watching Berg sleep. You could tell that whatever he was dreaming about, he was having a good time, and I believe many dog owners can relate to that experience.”

All band members of River Boy are passionate about this tour and hope that all dog and music lovers come to join them to have a good time. And knowing that proceeds will help animal shelters is a bonus! “We want to thank Bissell for sponsoring this tour. They care about the animals, and we would not have been able to do it without them,“ says Floyd.

Thank you to Bissell and River Boy for caring about our furry friends!

Whether you can relate to River Boy’s canine-inspiration or you just love music, we would love to see you at the Magic Stick on September 19! You can purchase tickets at the venue box office and Ticketweb.com.
