The police department in Pasco, Wash. honored a terminally ill dog named Eddie by making him an honorary police K9 for a day.

Eddie has an inoperable tumor and was given six months to a year to live. Pasco police officers decided to help Eddie check off some bucket list items. As ABC7 in Chicago reports, Officer Taylor and Detective Lee took their special guest to area businesses to collect donations for Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue.

Eddie’s activities included eating donuts, playing in a pool filled with toys and becoming a TV star on KNDU. Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue has found a foster home for Eddie so he can spend his remaining time as comfortable as possible.

The Michigan Humane Society is always looking for foster families to help provide temporary homes for many animals in our care. Visit michiganhumane.org/foster to apply to be an MHS foster.
